The Harlo Welcome Box

The Harlo Welcome Box

Case Study: Steelix Developments | The Harlo Welcome Box

A Project Rooted in Connection

When Steelix Developments partnered with Muse Baskets and Co., the goal was simple yet powerful: to make every new homeowner at Harlo feel truly at home. What began as a conversation about gifting quickly became an exploration of brand storytelling—how to transform a developer’s aesthetic and ethos into an unforgettable welcome experience.

Our challenge was to design a gifting experience that carried the emotional weight of arrival—the warmth, comfort, and pride that comes from turning a key for the first time.

The Vision

From our first consultation, we knew this project would center around feeling, not function. Steelix wanted more than a traditional gift basket; they wanted a keepsake moment that echoed their architectural philosophy—clean lines, elevated textures, and a refined yet livable aesthetic.

We began with one guiding question:
What does “home” feel like when it’s expressed through design?

After exploring multiple directions, moodboards, and prototypes, we arrived at The Harlo Welcome Box—a curation designed to slow time for just a moment. It invited new homeowners to settle in, brew tea, light a candle, and let their new space speak.

The Curation

Every product was intentionally sourced from Canadian artisans, reflecting both Steelix’s commitment to community and Muse’s dedication to supporting local craftsmanship.

Key Components:

  • Chaga Brew by Teakop – A grounding blend symbolizing restoration and ritual.

  • Organic White Raw Honey by Drizzle Honey – Chosen for its natural texture and purity.

  • Custom “Home Sweet Home” Candle by Wexford Candle – A nostalgic apple-cider scent designed exclusively for the project.

  • Soft Accent Tea Towel by Fabstyles and Contemporary Tea Mugs by Danica – Completing the tactile experience of warmth and refinement.

To unify the collection, we created custom-branded stationery, notecards, and candle labels featuring Harlo’s identity in soft, sophisticated detail.

The packaging became the bridge between brand and emotion. Each gift was presented in a black magnetic box, wrapped in a satin ribbon color-matched to Harlo’s palette, and finished with a bespoke gift tag featuring the Steelix logo and a “Welcome Home” message.

Rather than being handed to homeowners, the gifts were staged inside every residence, waiting quietly on each kitchen countertop as new owners stepped through their doors. The effect was cinematic: a visual and emotional welcome that transformed move-in day into a personal celebration.

The Result

The impact was immediate and visible. The Harlo Welcome Box became part of the move-in ritual itself—a detail that extended the sense of care Steelix is known for. Homeowners were met with warmth and beauty as they entered their new spaces, and the gesture added a human touch to an otherwise structured process.

For Steelix, the gifting experience elevated the overall presentation of the development, reinforcing their reputation for thoughtful, design-led communities. The collaboration showed how intentional gifting can quietly strengthen brand identity and transform a milestone into an emotional moment.
